  • Not yet :) Need to source a thinner split-ring thing for the headset as the one that came with it is too thick, I need to nip down the road and see if @1_n has a spare bb tool as I don't and I'm not putting the front derailleur clamp on until things have hardened a little bit more, but I should have most of the shiny bits on it by the sundown-ish and then I'll take some pics. Will be shitty low-light iPhone ones though :)

  • Looks ace

  • Copied over to new page

Amaze. The swagging on that seattube is incredibru

  • Bit more on it for the new page :)
(apologies for blur, light's on the way out innit)

  • I got the serotta decals from velocals.com, but they don't stock atlanta transfers, so I'm thinking I'll send them my artwork for the 'Atlanta' so they can add it to their archive and see if they'll comp me a pair in return...

  • Nice. NEVER EVER ride it.

  • It's a confusing time when I find myself heeding your advice, but today's the day.

I probably won't do anything more than pub posing on it with those wheels, but once I get the FiRs built up it should be good for a summer sun bike.

The FiRs colour-match pretty well too.

  • (also visible in that pic is the bit of fork I need to paint green, @OldSkoolRacer does some model painting so I'll pester him to help me source some green that matches the decals.)

  • stahp

  • Awesome paint job!

  • The long fade looks great.
Designers always build great looking bikes.
Looking forward to seeing this completed.

  • Everythings attached to the frame now except BB/cranks/front derailleur and bracket. Brakes are cabled in, not the derailleurs yet. Bar taping now. Currently London's most expensive mostly-NOS balance bike.

I think I'm actually happy with it, too. No idea whether it fits or not, or how it rides, but these can be dealt with later.

  • Under artificial light the orange still pops but the pink looks like more of a grape-y colour. It's funny how much it changes.

  • Looks lush. What is the advised curing time?

  • 'a while. keep it somewhere warm'. it's paint > lacquer > decals > lacquer for toughness (and to stop the decals interacting with the paint, on the off chance that might happen again, I guess) so would benefit from some time to harden properly.
But I wanted to build it because I feel like a child at christmas.

  • Must resist....

  • This thread needs MOAR PICS!

  • Tomorrow. It needs daylight.

Even the awful spotty bar tape looks ok on it. I bought some plain black expanding bar ends but it turns out they're the same design as the bundled supacaz ones, so instead of having to sharpie out the ugly supacaz ones with a cool green screw OR use plain black ones with boring silver screw, I've stolen the green-headed screw from the supacaz and swapped it in. all about the details :)
although my wrapping job is awful :/
