Lush. Contrast Lugs?
-
• #3
Nah, not the whole lugs. I imagine a dark blue or purple, golden sparkles, yellow lug fillings and decals to be pretty rad.

Atlantic Boulevard can paint that and supply the decals.. mine came from tokyo fixed and aparently it was painted by AB.. also it needed a shallow headset SJS cycles came to the rescue there.
Cant wait to see the progress pics, ill upload one of mine when i find one. -

Thanks for the advice but I live in Berlin, so I'll sort something out to get the frame painted somewhere nearby. Pics of other Brenshos are always welcome to get some more inspiration. :)
This is what I got for the cockpit:
Nitto Pearl 9 or 10
Nitto B105 AA
Superbe Pro brake levers
and nice pink Benotto tapeI also got a NOS Superbe Pro headset but I'm still tempted to buy a pink CK headset.

Is it pronounced brensho? Bloody hell.
-
• #8
nope. but 3rensho looks like brensho.
it's san-rensho.

When I received the frame, I thought about getting a rather modern group like the Dura Ace 7700. But as I already have an almost complete Superbe Pro group lying around which I also can update with some NOS parts from the bay, I opted for the more classic build.

fair enough
waiting eagerly to see the result nevertheless

Very nice lugs!

Thanks! I fell in love with the frame imediateley and was really surprised that no one else seemed to have interest in a large and lovely 3Rensho frame for 100£.

Bottom of the page...
Im trying to build it with Shimano Dura Ace AX... but progress is slow. -
• #14
Pure greatness! Just looked at those pics a couple days ago and really liked the frames colour.

These are my options for the pedals:
Simple and plain MKS Sylvan Road pedals and clips or new Kyokuto Pro Ace pedals and clips from the early 80s
-
• #16
I'm sure a CK will be too tall stack for the steerer thread.
Go for dura ace. -
• #17
Yup, this could be a problem. Would prefer Superbe Pro headset over Dura Ace on that bike though.

the gripnut has SH of 33-38mm depending on the setup.
for example DA 7410 has 37.6mm.

Loving how this build is looking
What discipline are you building it for?

Sunny Sunday rides to the icecream shop with white shoes and gloves ;)
Seriously, this will definetly be more of a good weather ride, as I already got this for daily business and light touring:
and this for fixed riding:

How's the build coming along ?

Some new parts to show:
NOS Suntour Superbe Pro crankset
Sparkly D.I.D. chain
Decals
And an old padded Kashimax RS saddle waiting for new leather
-
• #25
And I'm gonna trade some of my spare Superbe Pro parts for some MKS custom nuevo pedals, a silver Kashimax Aero saddle and a pair of NOS grey anodized Araya Rims.

I really wanted to own a 3Rensho road frame for quite some time and got really excited when I saw this frame on here for sale:

To identify the frame, I wrote an email to Cherbubim Cycles, one of Konno's successors. Their answer got me even more excited.
I couldn't be happier with this frame, it should fit me perfectly fine and I love the frame details.
Tange Prestige tubing
seat tube: 61cm c-t
top tube: 57,5cm c-c
3Rensho Superends
fork with Shimano dropouts
The frame definetly deserves some new paint but I'm still undecided about the colour. Some sparkles would be nice though. ;)
The build will largely be based on the Japanese All-Star Team: Suntour Superbe Pro, Nitto, Kashimax.
