..seriously though, I'd genuinely be interested to hear your findings.
Of course L glass is great, but I can't follow the logic that the sensor "needs" L glass.
It apparently is true for top-notch full frame bodies like Nikon D800 that shows lenses' flaws with brutal honesty, but the 60D is a 4+ year old APS-C camera that is still very forgiving..
First time I hear this, and my experience is a totally different one.
For MF there's myriads of cheap lenses, I personally love my old 55mm takumar (£50 used),
for autofocus there's awesome lenses for great prices like the 40/2.8 STM (£125 new), the 85/1.8 USM (£250 new), and pretty much all the new STM zoom lenses are dirt cheap and deliver great quality.
