There are plenty of pictures of broken ones, but hard to tell which ones "Exploded" and which were in a crash which would of destroyed a normal wheel. The problem is apparently to do with the bearing retaining clip or something, early ones were carbon and had lots of issues, they then changed them to metal which seem to be fine. I had one and it was fine, even after crashing into a tree.

Also have read that the older versions had an issue but the newer where fine. Had mine for over a year had a couple of falls and never had an issue. My bro still has his 650c and all is good. All old carbon wheels can explode over time it all depends on how they where treated. I would get another one anyday :)
