I've only used my fixed gear, or Di2 bikes with them, and you can easily push the Di2 button through the fabric - tactile enough to feel which one you are pushing.
Handy thing about Di2 is it doesn't take a shove, and you don't need to move the lever through an arc - a tap/light finger pressure does the job.
