If you went for the Deep Winter Gloves, the additional Primaloft One/Gold (alongside the OutDry membrane) would offer a higher level of insulation/weather protection than the Fugus. The higher price also gets you Pittards Leather, touchscreen compatibility and a DWR, so it's not really a fair comparison.
Don't want to get into a scrap over this, just pointing out facts. I actually use the 851 Early Winters regularly and like them for their light construction and dexterity. Was perfect yesterday with merino liners.

I m comparing the fugus to the rapha winter gloves, which both have a similar construction / thickness /price, ie one inner layer and one outer with no padding. i found the fugus definitly have a better outer fabric, more water and wind proof.
Maybe as you say the new model is now better, but as it stood last year, one would have had to get the rapha deep winter to get the same protection as the fugus.
