Very tempted to enter. Never really done anything like this.

Thanks for that Nic.
Actually I pretty much do that anyway.

Which rout most of you guys will register in?
-
• #30
The intermediate is plenty on old steel with crap brakes. But if you want to really push yourself go for the 100. If you're riding a 3 ton postman bike do the 30.

I don't want to go alone;)
So will stick to the forum group, if someone will go.
I'm not sure what to ride. Fixed all 40 y.o. geared;)) -

I'm going to sign up for the middle route on my sweet fixeh trike. That should be plenty challenging.
The 100 is wholly doable if you are half fit and have gears, but there are some pretty tough hills and some sketchy muddy downhill bits through the woods so fixed would be very challenging.

Cheers:) will think to register to 50, or if my wife will go 30:)

Just sorted the time off work, so will have a bash at this... I've done the Italian one a couple of times, the two longer routes, will have a to at the long one. It will be refreshing being able to drive up in the camper and have a good nights kip, instead of the one man bivi that I usually use!

Loose parts... that happened to me, i put a bike together rode it to work for a few months tweeked it. Get on the ride and the cranks come loose.. i had to console myself with some local brew.
Torquing nuts and bolts to manufacturers recommendations and thread lock.. for the next one. -

tickets now on sale...
-
• #39
Is the website working for you?
Can't seem to get on to the ticketing section. -
• #40
I think it's just buckling under the traffic. I got in sporadically.
Tbh last years event was flawless, though it's effectively doubled in price for solo campers makes it less of a 'given' for me.

may have a crack at it meself

More difficult to get tickets to than Glastonbury!
-
• #43
OOOPS!
THAT WAS STRANGE.poo...
-
• #44
yeah the site keeps crashing/timing out on me... anyone got a ticket yet?
-
• #45
I keep adding to basket and basket is not reflecting the add...
-
• #46
top tip: don't left click the next stage button, right click and open in new tab. Then if it times out you don't have to start from the beginning...
-
• #47
This is a bit disappointing:
Will there be someone to check my bike complies with the rules?
We rely on riders to have fully understood the rules so we won't be policing this during the event. -
• #48
got two in the basket and can't 'log-in' to register as it won't recognise my details, I'm certain I have them right - also won't allow me to reset my password...
-
• #49
Same for me, I swapped to a different email... Keep an eye on the top left, you may get logged in without realising it...

It's not bike focussed at all (relative to the Italian version). Plenty of modern aluminium on show last year. Was better for it tbh as it was it's first year, though they should add some sort of simple prize/token at the end for those who have braved it in OG steel and wool.
Skully: Just dress as you did in your teens and you'll be fine!
