I'm still using my Gabba at this time of year for pacy 40/50 milers as I run warm too. Depending on outside temps I either use a sleeveless merino or a ss heavier merino underneath plus Nanoflex arm warmers and pack a rapha wind jacket in case of mechanicals. I know I'll be warm as long as I'm working, but as soon as I stop the chill quickly sets in.

I was thinking the short sleeved one would be more versatile. I run quite hot and have had real problems managing heat and sweat whilst doing intervals out on the bike recently - seem to end up soaking wet and freezing in the last hour of rides. Was hoping that a gabba, plus a baselayer and a packable shell would get me through pretty much anything.
