Got a bit of money from my ageing grandparents this Christmas (500 knicker), and rather than have it absorbed by my overdraft I'd quite like to spend a bit on a frame and bits. I'd quite like to downsize my bikes and get a do-it-all type thing. I thought this was going to be a crosscheck, but I didn't get on with it when I had one and I'd quite like something a bit posher.
Is there a better do-it-all-but-not-a-tank than an Equilbrium? I'd quite like to try discs, just because, but I think that might be over budget because I have enough stuff to build a rim brake build and it may not be something I can stretch to.
So, 2 questions: alternatives to Equilbirum disc frameset (I've seen some clearance 725 ones for £370ish, but second hand would be massively preferable) and the cheapest way of doing a (mechanical) disc brake setup. Hubs, rotors and calipers that will work with 6600 levers.
This is my current garage. I'm moving in the new year though and it's unlikely that I'll have the same amount of space, hence the downsize...
