I like the Murata finish, very reasonably priced for a quality blade too. I would seriously recommend window shopping at the Japanese Knife Company shops though because I was surprised how different each knife felt and looked in the flesh. However their great customer service does not warrant the inflated prices of the blades.
Saying that I'll probably go back to them for a whetstone and the wooden magnetic knife rack was nice and...Ps. I initially cut around the stone of an avocado in my hand too, I just don't wack the stone out with my new knife.

I am a bit worried about Mrs Sacreds casual attitude to blades.
She holds avocados in her hand when cutting them etc.What do you do?
Hold them between your thighs?

But Santa bought me some Globals which was a nice suprise. Really looking forward to having some decent kitchen knives finally but I am a bit worried about Mrs Sacreds casual attitude to blades. She holds avocados in her hand when cutting them etc.
