Very nice @Jingle_Jangle A real classic look going on there.
saddle and bar tape from Busyman
I'd not heard of Busyman before, is that an existing saddle you got him to re-cover?
Did you organise it from the UK?

Yep,
Did at all by e-mail. He re-covered an existing saddle. I sent him a brand new Fizik, but had I thought about it, a used one would have sufficed.
Really nice guy to deal with. I believe he has recently started doing it full time, as opposed to as a sideline.

Subscribed. If I ever have any money, the shop's just round the corner. My dream bike used to be a Chas Roberts, as he was my most 'local' builder, but I'll definitely go to talbot if it ever happens. What I would get would be something to replace my Genesis Croix de fer stainless.

loving the disc Road bike, especially the paint work.
Any particular reason for going for the external bottom cup headsets?
-
• #39
Same thinking that suggests that removable seat collars are superior to integrated seat-clamps.
Goes wrong? In the bin with it, fit another.
-
• #40
Sounds sensible, do ones like the CK the inset ones run the risk of damaging the headtube?
-
• #41
Nah, my Dalsnibba has an inset top/external bottom - just like the Trollstigen you pictured.

I do wish Matt would answer my email but i guess they are busy.

He was away in Forrin parts recently, returned and headed straight out for Christmas with his family. I'm sure he'll get back to you when he's had a chance to take the paper crown off, and take the squeaker out of his mouth.

Too late ! He contacted me late last night. It will be ready before new year apparently !

Thought I'd add @tomsvoboda 's new bike to this thread.
-

^ Ah cheers, was going to do that at some point.
Cranks swapped to S75 DD's w Zen ring. Next is new saddle, Prob a carbon padded SMP as they're amazing to cycle on. Then pedals, seatpost and stem. Also new wheelset at some point.. Long process. Rides beautiful though, seriously couldn't ask for more. -

Saw this in person today.

Readers wives.
Great Escape was the flat one that started at LMNH wasn't it? In which case, yes.
Actually my only regret with this bike is that I should probably have been sensible and got a little more clearance + mudguard mounts to make it a bit more audax friendly, as that seems to be the way I'm going these days. But I guess in the long run it justifies N+1...
