New cranks? Looks rad.

Yeah cheers man, it got a new drivetrain and back wheel last month. It was running on Miche bits and it wasn't doing the bike any favours, feels so much better now.
I'm quite excited about returning to commuter mode , I've got S500 levers with Newbaums tape on the spotter bars and it looked awesome on the bike when I was tinkering last night.

Cheers guys. @Tenderloin fair comment, just a sucker for that stealth black combo. Will report back how it rides.
-
• #98691
Does that qualify as a monostay.

pardon late reply. was riding brakeless, your suggestion for fixed with front brake is a great idea but only after i enjoy a bit of being able to coast for awhile. you know you realise how enjoyable freewheeling is only after you ride fixed for long time.
-
• #98693
You should slap a coaster hubs on the rear, it's a lots more fun being able to slow down with a light back pedal.
I don't know, I never really enjoyed singlespeed, even after riding a brakeless hipster bicycle for a long time, felt like a broken variable gears bicycle.

I'm just saying you can shed weight on the tyres but keep the same look
-
• #98695
Lovely; I know its Extralite but inline post made me a little sad .. get zipp SL layback

Don't listen to Amey / Get the lightest post that fits you on the bike.

Is the saddle rail bent?
-
• #98699
I'll do that come the summer. In the meantime I'll probably fit the panaracers to my Shimano R500's for the winter, whenever it comes. Any advice you want on Hong Fu, just ask.

.
meant to reply to @TRA - think you should keep the current forks + get a rack too. it's rad as it stands though.
