I'm home at my parents' for Christmas and have been asked to sort out their ipad. I don't own or use ipads or anything apple so have very little idea.
It seems the problem is it's full of pictures which means it can't be used for anything else. Icloud storage is also full I've been told.
What's the best way to get these pictures off the ipad but still reasonably accessible? Don't want something public like flickr but not sure what the other options are.
Cheers

Dropbox or Google Drive, also you should be able to set up an ifthisthenthat so it automatically uploads future photos from photo reel then you can periodically clear them out from the iPad.

Cheers, it seems they're uploading all the pictures from a digital camera onto it using an SD card adapter. About 13GB of pics on there ...
FFS - I can't install onedrive or google drive because it's not updated to OS 7. I can't update to OS 7 because there's not enough space (it needs 5.8GB of a total capacity of 13GB!).
I could upload these to the icloud with a paid subscription for 20GB of space, but there doesn't seem to be an option to upload the photos to icloud, only the photo stream. However, there isn't an option to copy all photos to photo stream and I'm not selecting 3,000 individually.
Anyone any suggestions to solve this?

There's 5GB. I'm not fussed about paying for 20GB (79p per month) but the issue is that I can't see how to get these pictures onto the icloud, they're not in the photo stream and that seems to be the only picture area that gets synced.

Back the iPad up fully to a computer.
Erase iPad.
Update software.
Restore from back up.
Profit. -

Actually, once plugged into a computer you may not even have to worry about the amount of space needed to download the update.

I'm having some iCloud issues - my old iPhone 4 would send all photos to my PC but my new 6+ won't do this. Can't work out why, as nothing has changed in terms of the account and I've enabled icloud/photostream on the phone (as far as I can tell)...

No issues with the Kext signing etc? I get a scary message whenever I turn on trim enabler.

Cheers. This is now the backup plan (but means I'll have to also fix the computer).
I have memories of you only being able to sync with itunes on one computer and lots of problems with ipods being wiped if you sync with a different PC. Is this problem fixed now or will I have to do all of the PC stuff with the computer that it was first set up with?

Haven't heard of that. Is image capture mac only? I can't find a download link for it for Windows?

Looks like you aren't alone:
