True - but I think people try to compare 4km and hour record performances too much. It's similar to expecting a 1500m track runner to immediately scale up to half marathon, whereas there's a bit more to it than that, although they are largely aerobic events. I'd also say that Boardman's 1996 hour far outstrips his IP world record in relative terms.

Don't like it as much as Dowsett's Canyon, but that doesn't mean it isn't fast!

They look good for hiding Di2 bits.

I understand what you are saying, but didn't Boardman set both his hour record and his long standing 4 km pursuit world record within a week or so of each other?
-
• #258
Yep - his hour record was done at around 90% of the power output of his pursuit power which is what makes it so special.

Alex Dowsett broke his collarbone in a training crash yesterday. No decision yet on whether he'll still go for the hour at the end of next month.
I'd think it was unlikely though.

Ouch, just read that Dowsett has broken his collarbone!

Where did you read that?

I'm well looking forward to Sandy Dowsett's hour record attempt.
Has anyone heard how his training is going?
-
• #273
Any more on where/how he did this?
I know they usually have a stop at the Blue Egg occasionally when training.
I'd like to see Dowsett out training and try to hold his wheel for 30 seconds but think I'd need him to break a few more bones to stand a chance.

Has anyone heard about Joey Essex going dowsing and breaking his collarbone within the first hour? I think Mark Cavendish was involved.
10% faster than Brandle?
