@Breso going to try and get a corima pro ultra saddle or another one of those saddles that have a really high back, got a campag crankset and ive got a full face chainring (copy of the stronglight delta) from mquandro being made for it right now, rear gipiemme disc wheel thats been sitting in my room is going on obviously, and i want a 650c aero wheel for the front but still looking (trispoke or double disc??) short jag stem and proper bullhorns.
could be viciously anti but i guess we will see :)

Well I think as long as u stay away from the red toe strap and blue front tire it'll be an improvement from the previous setup.
-
• #98654
I knew I was going to give Michele M2 more jobs! ;)
Glad for them.
For the wheels try to get something you can actually use without worrying much, and maybe something that match (f+r).
If the frame fits you good you can go for longer stem that's always a good thing (handling, proportions, etc)
Open a thread once you'll start building! -

he said to me 'there is another guy in london we made a chainring for, he has a somec'
dat u? lul
-
• #98656
I thought you wanted to do this after seeing my CP where I was talking about them making the ring for campa cranks:http://www.lfgss.com/conversations/252878/?offset=50
(for yours they'll use the tracing they did on the cranks I had to send them) :)

• #98657
oh sh*t yeah i did! that is evidently where i discovered those amazing chainrings! need to start remembering peoples usernames better. epic build man

• #98658
built a lowbudget wheelset for my pubbike, stem, saddle and chainring are also new.

Cheers man, you can do great stuff with that frame ;)
PS: for campagnolo's sake don't call those rings Delta copies! Campa was making the full face ring way before them (probably before 1984 Moser's hour record attempt) :)

• #98662
i ordered cotton white bartape for this, not sure if it'll a good idea, if it looks shit i've learnt my lesson and just get some black! double disc would be on point but im struggling to find a good front disc anywhere, had a few discs now and they've always been rear...
anyone know which bullhorns fit a jag stem and have relatively deep drop?
-
• #98663
I have some rad Masi deep drop / pursuit style bullhorns - will check there diameter this evening if you like.
-
• #98664
what bars are these, please?
-
• #98665
@JSSR Mavics boss. If the white looks shit then just wrap some benotto tape over it, will make it feel slightly better..

Thanks.
I ask because I recently bought a pair of Nittos that look a bit like that...
They are "B801" and have a 22.2 clamp, which baffled the hell out me. -
• #98668
…..nd have relatively deep drop
you might find level bullhorns more practical as the frame geo get you quite far forward n low already.
meanwhile mavic will get you low
-
• #98669
What ones are they?
-
• #98670
u dont have google ?
-
• #98671
Sorry. I thought they were a really deep drop specific bars.

Some minor updates to the stable. First up the Caad8 - with the 3T accelero wheels and Vittoria Open Pave tyres and a new saddle. Pretty sure it's complete now. Rides well enough for now. I'm ignoring the slightly noodly front end until I can afford new forks or, in fact an entire new frame.
Next is a bit of a bastardisation. I feel kind of guilty for this, but it is a lot of fun. And since no one would buy it, I figured I'd ride it!
1 x 8 gearing (42 up front) and risers. This came about as I needed new forks. the ones that came with the frame had a too short steerer so the stem kept wriggling loose. I had these steel ones lying around so on they went, and then risers... and flat pedals!
It's not going to stay like this, while it's fun, the frame deserves more so I'll see if I can find some straight blade carbon forks (profile maybe) and I'll set it up with either drops and clip on tri bars or back to the airwings. I also have a set of SRAM apex cranks with a BB that will work on this.
-
• #98673
Airwings please.
-
• #98674
Absolutely brilliant on both counts, imo.
Keep the Cooper rad, it looks like a cousin to the Eddy low-pro with Oury's and thumbies. I vote put a rack on it.
-
• #98675
Cheers Mecha, funny you say put a rack on it - I have one in the corner that I was considering using.
As a side note, the 1x8 with DT shifter works really well. Thumb shifter would be ideal if it was to stay like this.
Awesome... I guess it's early-mid 90s!
Any plan on the build?
