"i'd like to dismantle DA components" that's not going to be easy. For example the 7700 rear mech pivots on the parallelogram are a hardened steel pin riveted in by machine .. yes they can be drilled out with a lot of care but you then need to design a means to fix it all back together again.
If I may be so bold?! I'd use Campagnolo .. easier to take apart, looks good on classic frames and if you ebay and are patient, groupsets can be assembled relatively cheaply from 2nd hand parts bought with a few scratches .. you'll need to polish the part as preparation for anodising so a scratch is not cause for concern.
so, few months ago i bought this somec promax frame in order to build it with DA 7400. later decided to sell it and again leave it for myself etc. finally, when i saw Breso's pink pinarello with dark campy, i decided to keep somec, take his paint off (frame is all chromed) collect DA 7700 (i think it's the best raplacement for campy due to my constant lack of money) and built millenium roadie.
my goal is chromed f&f with black anodized DA. i'd like to dismantle DA components and have someone to anodize aluminium parts. hope i'll find someone to do it for me.
