Looks great! Go Flite '91...

For a 5ft 10in guy, would you recommend a 52cm or a 55cm size?

55cm

Finished!
Went for a fizik arione vs and took a gamble with purple bar tape. May swap for black if it starts to annoy me.

Hot,
looks much better without the brooks and the tape works -
• #32
^ ditto. Great job. I wouldn't say the bar tape "works" per se but it looks fine :)

Awesome. See you Sunday.

Wow!
Such a nice build. Love the CX1 groupset in this bike. -
• #35
This is brilliant! Exactly the kind of thing I'm planning as my all-weather all-rounder.
Will the frame accept mudguards?
What weight is the full build?
I see the cassette is 11-32 - how many teeth on the chainring? -
• #36
Thanks for the feedback, glad you guys like it.
The frame will take mudguards but not racks. I haven't weighed the bike but I'd take a guess at around 10kg (which probably means its a little more)
I bought a 42t chaining but they do tons of different sizes.
Pretty happy with the build overall, fits well and is very comfortable to ride.

You no supacross today?

Unfortunately not something came up.
Heard that Nick and his boy won. They live on my street.
-
• #39
Yeh, Tom? Nick won veteran and second in senior, Tom won senior. Last lap was awesome in senior race, two climbs, one after the other, Tom in first Nick and another guy, whose name I think was Drake, close behind, but Tom almost sprinted the second climb, gapped em both, easy winner. An excellent day of racing, nice to see the kids havin a go early doors. Will be back for more.
Sorry you couldn't make, would've been cool to meet you and check the bike out. Ah well. -

How well do your brakes work? I've got some tektro mini vs on my cx and they arnt that great...using rival briftera too

Work as well as my SRAM red road callipers in the dry. To be honest not really had it in really muddy conditions
-
• #42
Yeah In the dry they are okay, muddy conditions they are a bit hit and miss.
Thank god the mud helps slow you down too.
-
• #43
Yeah, I just might pull the trigger on one of these. CX1 is $$.
-
• #45
Yeah, going that route for sure.
-
• #46
Yea not sure about the CX1 actually. It was a real pain to get working nicely and th very solid gear changes I like with my Red group set just feel annoying when riding cross.
On the flip side it's pretty bling and light which the macho man definitely needs.
-
• #47
I weighed my macho man and it was 10.27kg with pedals and saddle bag so thats not bad at all!
-

Will do a hack of sorts.
Been done before but it's pretty neat and doesn't cost a bundle.
44/11-36.

This is uber cool. What's the total weight?
im 6ft 2in
Tt length is pretty long and I'm quite stretches out but I like that feeling.
Trying to decide on a saddle. Any thoughts?
Might go San marco rolls in black or something modern like an arione. What do you guys think?
