  • Cross posting in desperation from the wine thread

    Christmas first world problem emergency!

My sister has asked me to get a bottle for my dad as I'm down here in the big metropolitan winefug that is London's famous lufguss.

    The two choices are either:

Radikon Pinot Grigio 2011 (from Friuli, Italy according to the wine list from a restaurant she photographed, but the internet seems to think it's from Slovenia)

    or

Melias Papagiannakos 2010 (some kind of dessert wine from Greece)

I know next to fuck all about wine and it's probably too late to order online. In any case I can't seem to find either on an online shop.

Any idea where would be a good bet to find either of these in London before the 25th? I had a quick google of the big wine shops but most seem to specialise in French wine, AFAICT.

    Any help appreciated.

  • Laithwaites or vinopolis in borough market followed by berry brothers and Rudd on St James would be my first ports of call.

Edit: thinking about it, if you try berry brothers without success, fortnum and mason might be worth a try.

  • I was going to suggest that area, there's both Laithwaites and Vinopolis, plus at least one wine merchant on the market itself, and an excellent Oddbins on the corner of Duke St Hill and London Bridge.
