I always think how beautiful
ModoloOfmega groupsets can be (especially Mistral)ftfy, and I always think the spider arms on the Mistral chainset sweep the wrong way. It was obviously designed by a stylist, not an engineer.

Why on earth did I write Modolo?
Anyway, are you talking about the spider strength or its aero factor? -

Strength. The driving torque tries to compress the chainring, so it will buckle. If you sweep the other way, the torque tries to expand the chainring, and it can handle tension much better. See also; disc rotors.

Worth embedding, Victory groupset deserves more love, not for being great in itself but for leading Campag out of the 30 rut of Record updates. The first modern Campag, in many ways.
