Is it hip to misuse the term 'meta' now? I know art schools went nuts for it about 7 years ago.. Is the wave just crashing here?

Getting my second tatt tomorrow, am super excited and slightly scared.

It's due too be about a three or four hour session, does anyone have survival tips? Was going to chat to the artist etc, but after a bit I imagine we'll both want to zone out so am going to take my mp3 player and tablet.

I was thinking of taking some sugary snacks too as I guess you need it to counter all the adrenaline?

There is no way I'll be able to sleep through it! That must be like the equivalent of falling asleep in the middle of a session at the dentist.

I've only got thigh tattoos. They're like a comfy massage.
I've fallen asleep in 2/3 sittings. The only one I didnt was my first...

I almost fell asleep during my last session. Next time i'm taking a towel to use as a pillow.

I always have a lucozade before I get tattoed. little bit of chat and just listen to whatever is playing in the shop. I'd feel abit rude listening to music or playing on a tablet or whatever.

Reckon it depend on the tattooist, my first was very soothing, but the second one is quite tough.

This one's on my shin, which is partly why I'm nervous... the last was on my calf so wasn't too bad compared to other places I guess (except the heel which was killer)

I've only had stuff on my arms but tend to numb to it and nod off. I've almost nodded off in the dentist plenty of times.

Definitely snacks, plenty of water, personally wouldn't bother with anything else.

I regularly fall asleep at my dentist's...

My shins were pretty easy! 3/4 hours will fly by as well.

You're a harder man than me. I found the fleshier bits near the ankle pretty beastly. Shin in general was ok once I'd got used to the grinding feel

OK, so the bottom half of my calf and ankle is pretty swollen still after the tatt. The artist said to expect this so no big stress, but I was just wondering how long to expect it to go on?

Also, I was hoping to ride on Sunday, is that a good idea given I'll be wearing tights? The inking was on Tuesday.

If it's still swollen and sore on Sunday I'd give the ride a miss! Any pics?

Also, I'm definitely not hard, just weird!
