Not sure what size this is from their website, more likely a 50cm than 48cm.

Only seen a Simplon once in the UK. Going into Theydon Bois on a car, would think on the way to Hog Hill on a weekend morning.

Someone talk me out of buying this fucking CAAD10
-
• #584
Is that a request?
-
• #585
Even I think the Kinesis is a better shout .. with 5800
-
• #586
Kinesis frameset might be a decent shout as a short-term replacement for the SuperSix, but it's definitely not as good as a Caad10 with C24s...
-
• #587
Yeah, try something new. No hassle either, just swap parts.
No need to split up the CAAD10, sell the parts, deal with dibsing, posting, lowballing etc etc.
After reading about the Kinesis I'm tempted to try one myself. Think it looks good in a functional, but tough kinda way.Think of it this way, the CAAD 10 could live in your mind as the nearly nice, but not as nice as supersix. An annoying second choice. The Kinesis, well, it'll be different and you'll be happy to ride it into the ground. Just need to find a good deal on the frame.

Oh no, I'm talking about buying a complete CAAD10 as a winter bike! No splitting, no building, just riding ASAP.
Of course, there are things that I'd change (wheels, internal battery, chainrings) but out of the box it's a pretty convincing package. Still not 100% on wired electronics but it would certainly tide me through for 3-4 years. Would also mean I could leave the SuperSix until summer to be repaired & repainted / replaced.

This would also mean I could start a new CP thread for hiding every trace of the electronics...

Internal battery costs loads esp if/when you are getting the group cheap; I'd say dont bother since your end point is SRAM wireless. I run ghetto zip tie under NDS chain stay; works a treat.
Worth looking at Bowman Palace too. They are doing some discount codes which gets it below £600.

• #591
Why not get the supersix Ui2 from pauls for a bit more (300)... your size and nice colour too.
-
• #592
Buy the damn thing, put PDW Full Metal Fender and ride it.
You got less than a week now.
-
• #593
It's about 500 more, and the CAAD10 would make an excellent winter bike in the future. A Supersix Di2 makes for another spendy problem if I drop it.
-
• #594
£2099 vs £1799 - Unless you are able to get an additional discount?
CAAD 10s are great bikes but they are not as durable as people seem to be implying. The tubing is wafer thin and toast in proper a crash like any carbon frame.

^^^^^ the bowman seems to be getting great reviews and very good price.

This looks even more promising: http://road.cc/content/news/139036-exclusive-sneak-peek-first-frames-mason-cycles
LOVE the frames which are compatible with both electronic and mechanical shifting like the CAAD10 2014 onwards ..
-
• #598
^^ fair play hard to argue with that price... black inc sounds like the way to go!
-
• #599
From memories, that's only a little more than trades, just get the damn bike.

the CAAD10 would make an excellent winter bike in the future.
No the kinesis would make and excellent winter bike. The CAAD10 is a good road bike that if you want could could squeeze bigger tyres and some raceblades onto.
Imo the only 2 choices are the super six Evo (?) or the kinesis. Everything else is just an odd choice based on what you've said so far.
oooh would you be able to DM me a pic of the bike?
Getting pictures of tiny frames from manufacturers is a nightmare.
