  • i bullied Coke Life the other day by observing that it 'tasted shit', then I gave Cadbury's a right bitchy tirade on their cocoa content, just for the lols, before storming down to the local 'Vintage' market and character assassinating them all by sporting my neon yellow Armani crop top that made them all look like the hard-up, desperate peasants they are. Tescos sales are down 73% this year just because of my side-of-the-mouth facebook postings.

  • Back on topic, I've had two shits this morning and there's more to come!

    #Guinness

  • You can definitely lead to a noticable loss in sales via forum posting.

  • So much this.

  • Yeah, CLP being a point in case. Good job lufguss isn't 'Which? RhadFixie' magazine though.

  • Seriously, I don't see any inflammatory comments posted here recently.

This thread has recently just been a source of jokes about shit and the odd reposting of his special offers with people saying they wouldn't buy. Replace "nice but pricey" with "shit" and that's basically the same as the Rapha thread.

The fact is this is part of the historic record, and it shouldn't be censored. But it should be fairly obvious to people that his business has changed in the last five years...

If he's missed out on investment because an investor saw this thread and decided not to invest, that is the investors choice.

As I've mentioned before, if this thread is damaging the brand irrevocably, then he should rebrand, not ask us to censer what did happen.

  • Fucking pathetic. This forum genuinely has gone from being a bunch of people who just offered good advice to others about bikes to an online wank fest of self important tossers with an unimaginably high regard for their own lack of knowledge about bikes, leading to behaviour such as actively trying to ruin a guy's start up business. The accusation that he comes across as a bit of a dickhead on the internet is equally applicable to the lot of you.

While this forum has enriched my life considerably and I've met many awesome friends through it, this kind of thing is the ugly side where knobheads spend time trying to justify their futile existence by slagging off a small business and think they have the right to do so because they know the difference between different years of dura ace. Delete this nasty shite and be done with.

  • /oblig.

  • You want good advice?

tl;dr of this thread: Don't buy a Foffa.

  • Fucking pathetic.

If you say so, it's a forum, everyone's allowed to speak, even if they are being a fucking twunt.

This forum genuinely has gone from being a bunch of people who just offered good advice to others about bikes

The discussion about Danni's bikes constitutes part of that, even if poo jokes are prominent. Bike chat can get very dry and chafing after all, so some kind of verbal aloe helps smooth the irritated wrinkles of the forum sphincter.

to an online wank fest of self important tossers with an unimaginably high regard for their own lack of knowledge about bikes, leading to behaviour such as actively trying to ruin a guy's start up business.

Danni's actively doing that for himself, we're just participating in our usual forum, which isn't a covert marketing tool for the needy capitalist.

The accusation that he comes across as a bit of a dickhead on the internet is equally applicable to the lot of you.

    Definitely. You too, pal.

Who are we justifying ourselves to? you? Danni? Or just amused by some spectacularly ugly, expensive, badly put together bikes (do you go onto Anti-Porn and weep profusely?) and subsequently inept hole digging?

Honestly, you must be in fits when you watch Jeremy Kyle, the news, etc etc. if people on a cycling forum, chatting shit about subjectively appreciated bikes, responding to his holy-headfuck's ploys for free bespoke marketing content does this to you. Pure evil!

  • Not really. Remove your head out of your arse for half a second emyr.

tl:Dr of this thread is, if you are after a starter bike to get into cycling then foffa is one of many similar, standard options. While a bit overpriced, they look ok and would be a decent way to get into cycling if you don't know anything about bikes. If you want a de Rosa, then this isn't the brand for you

  • Why do you or this forum demand that a company make a wonderful contribution to cycling?

I don't demand it, I just suggested that the way Giant/Specialized/Trek/whoever got to be the size they are is by having more people love them than hate them. Making a worthwhile contribution is a way to achieve that. Those big companies took a long view and put time, money and effort into building brand value, rather than just trying to cash in fast. Dannii is supposed to be some hot-shot City business man, but he doesn't seem to understand that investment is needed in order to grow a business. He's welcome to whatever profit he has mugged off clueless hipsters, but as nothing he has done has shown any indication that he either wants to, or knows how to, build a long term business, he must (if he isn't a total idiot) have known from the outset that Foffa Bikes was a short term project. That's certainly how it has been run so far. If one thread on LFGSS can kill it off (no sign so far that it can) he has already had a far longer run than he deserves.

  • So you're saying they're overpriced compared with equivalent bikes, but you'd rather let someone who doesn't know any better get blindly ripped off, rather than making it clear a Foffa is not a good deal?

Why do you hate newbies so much?

  • you might want to get stuck into these scumbags as well.

    http://www.cyclechat.net/threads/fixies-foffa-bikes-any-good.45596/page-3

  • Slightly overpriced but then so is tons of entry level stuff. it was worth paying for the people I know who have bought foffas as they got a lot of joy out of them. It's a decent entry level brand that doesn't deserve this opprobrium.

  • We had a polo party last week and about half an hour before I left I had the worst foffas of my life. It was not pleasant at all, like a gravy boat being poured from my rectum. I pulled it all together, boshed some imodium and made it through a booze and drug filled evening without foffaing myself in the pub. It was a great success although for the first hour or so every potential and actual fart was extremely worrying.

  • So people who don't do research are a reason not to have opinion/review threads?

I don't see how the criticism is any worse than amazon reviews of subjectively bad products.

  • IMHO TLDR...

Dick-head builds shit bikes and behaves like a cunt online in reponse to valid criticism.

    FFW 5 years...

Said dickhead is making a go of his small business making reasonable entry-level bikes. Bunch of self-important tossers who think they know everything continue to try to ruin the guy's business because of all the sad keyboard warriors on the planet they are determined to prove that they are the saddest.

The thread should not be locked or deleted, and personally I would never buy a Foffa for a variety of reasons, but Wicksie and puncture are the one's making most sense now.

  • 4 bottles of red last night. 4!

Eagerly anticipating the acidic Niagara Falls to thrust itself towards earth. The splash back is going to require an entire cleanup operation of itself. Then I'm gonna go 'Spoons and get myself some grub.

Yeah, I'm going 'Spoons, fuck off.

  • this thread is now about keyboard warriors assuring everyone else they are most certainly NOT keyboard warriors because keyboard warriors.

    /goes back to work.
