Almost everything in business has some dependence on everything else...
Deep like the mother fucking ocean brau

• #3678
I can't close the thread, there's no function to do so.
But imagine the uproar if I did. I don't believe I have the right to do so either.

• #3680
You know this thread has actually contributed significant impact to the detriment of his business, his livelihood for his family...
...His business is a success ...
... we're not that important.I don't think I could have said it better myself.
If Danni had replied to the opening of this thread with a scoffing remark about how in 5 years time he would be selling range of bikes via a variety of well respected online retailers people would have split their sides laughing.
Yet, despite this thread, here he is doing it.

• #3681
Ah thanks mdcc, looks like a can close it.
So, shall I close it?
Personally I don't agree with censorship and I'm pretty sure Velocio will feel the same.
However I believe this thread is really unfair. I love this forum but think this thread is out of order. No-one deserves to have his business impacted this much. And I've been made aware of something significant that has been scuppered because this thread yields so high in Googles search results.
The problem is that it won't go away if it's closed but at least we've put an end to it.
Unless someone starts another thread right?
This is such a ridiculous shit storm and I'm sorry it ever started.Let the man be, for fux sake.

Hang on, despite this thread, which arose and propagated because of his dodgy practices, he is doing OK? Really? that's a surprise.
He has come across here and in other places (wikipedia anyone?) as a knob of the highest order, out to exploit people into buying bikes of really dubious quality.
Foffa has been guilty of some shocking builds, and we are supposed to let him get on with it?
It is the merciless hounding by forum members that drives this shit into the ditch, and lets quality rise like cream to the top.
Why on here are the good guys treated well and the bad ones drummed out of business?
Fucking quality control that's what.
If he built quality we would be all over it. He doesn't, his products are irredeemably shit. He has earnt his place. He is in it for the money, by selling garbage to the gullible.
He deserves to be hounded and if he has mouths to feed it shouldn't be by selling junk to the gullible.
And my dog just shat in the bathroom. -

" and we are supposed to let him get on with it?"
This is exactly the point. Who do you think you are? You think you have a moral obligation to rid the world of evil bike sellers, saving the poor innocent public one cheap bike at a time? Srsly, get over yourselves.
His products were very bad, now they're ok, just not to the taste of the forum. "He's in it for the money"? That's what a business does mate.
And no, he does not deserve to be hounded and have his business tarnished because he used to be bad, turned his business round and a select few grown men are still playing bicycles and bitching on the internet because they have an elevated level of self importance and fuckall else to do.

• #3685
Damnit, I will not be sucked in to this quagmire of shite again.

No, you are not a good guy for slandering a guy and his business. Load of shit. This thread is internet bullying at its worst, a load of keyboard wankers picking holes in someone's livelihood while ignoring a million other cycling industry scams much worse than foffa and his average bike company. Most of the forum 'experts' on here know fuck all about bikes. There are some great things about this forum but the bullshit on here is fucking wrong. You dickheads slate foffa for sounding like a dick when he rises to your utter shite and carry on regardless with your vile bullying even when he sorts the issues out and is nothing like the message that this thread started. Wicksie, close this fucking thread down and I would love to see velocio do the right thing and delete these 148 pages of disgusting bullying. If anyone claims that they 'own this thread then Fuck them and if this online community reckons they 'own' it well this online community is a bag of shite and I want no more part of it. Fuck you bullies, leave the guy alone to be a minor player in the low level average quality single speed market. There is nothing wrong with that.

• #3687
Yeah right on Wicksie

Over half a million hits on Google for "Specialized sucks" and they're doing OK. Over two million for "Trek sucks" and they're fine too, even with the epic tarnish of being so closely associated with the greatest doper who ever lived.
You can't do anything about the people who hate you, you just have to get the people who love you to outnumber them; Foffa fails at this because, unlike Specialized and Trek, he doesn't actually make any positive contribution to cycling. No innovation, no sports sponsorship, no social engagement, no quality product, just a chancer hopping on a bandwagon hoping to make a quick buck.
If he has been unlucky in getting on the wrong side of a particularly highly ranked forum, well, tough shit. Most business start-ups fail, and most of them do less to deserve failure than he has, so nobody is going to shed a tear if his business folds. We don't owe him a living, and nobody has any God-given right to succeed in business, nor any right to be protected from fair criticism or even unfair ridicule.

" Foffa fails at this because, unlike Specialized and Trek, he doesn't actually make any positive contribution to cycling."
Unlike Specialized and Trek, Foffa is a single businessman still in the early days of his business. They're not comparable. Two are giants of cycling with 40 odd years of experience, one isn't. Of course internet abuse is going to have more impact on the small business...
Srsly guyz, you're not that important, go outside.
-
• #3690
Load of shite tester, your normal good sense deserts you on this one. Why do you or this forum demand that a company make a wonderful contribution to cycling? In my book foffa is ok. I know people who have bought foffas, ridden them to work for a summer, loved it, carried on through the winter and then started getting more into bikes etc. Thats a decent contribution to cycling although they still don't know their shimano from their campag. Foffa was a crap startup that sorted its shit out and then made standard entry level bikes that with a bit of marketing (like all brands) claims to be a bit better than it actually is. The guy was a start up bike company for new entry level cyclists that has sold perfectly decent bikes for a few years now.
He is not specialized who are big enough to suck up any shit thrown their way but this thread is the domain of bullies and I don't fucking like bullies so stop it.
-
• #3691
People who buy Foffas don't know any better.
If he wants to profit from ignorance without innovating, just jumping on a hipster bandwagon, I don't see why he should be exempt from criticism.
Dolan makes cheap bikes. You don't hear much shit about them because
- They're actually good.
- He doesn't pretend they're anything they're not.
- He doesn't present himself online in a manner which tempts LFGSSers to comment unkindly, despite his penchant for punching journalists.
- They're actually good.
-
• #3692
Are we being taken for mugs here ??
Cynically, I suspect Dani has been quietly asking google to remove entries under the "right to be forgotten" rule.
Is this is a big sanitising exercise for Foffa - he must need to look cleaner to gain a deal in Europe? -
• #3693
@Wicksie can you stop slandering the guy you make him sound like a talentless shit who depends on the google position of a single forum topic to eat, as he said on his wiki he was "extremely successful in the city of london" and so I'm sure if his bike brand fails he will just go back to that or work as he has claimed to in the past as an "italian designer".
Unlike Specialized and Trek, Foffa is a single businessman
Read this.
foffabikes.com/aboutus/On a serious note tho has someone threatened you again?
https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/250023/Yes. I gather that the thread I started lead to him getting the sack which caused him to phone me and abuse me, then try to send his son round.
-
• #3694
regardless of the qualidee of his product, he's proven himself to be a censorious, illiberal fucking crybaby, so yeah, crack on.
-
• #3695
Don't close the thread. It self moderates, and any 'bullying' or character asassination has been called out and shown for what it is. Someone who didn't know about Foffa would get quite a balanced view, if they read everything, no?
-
• #3696
A lot of the dissing of the product does come across as ill informed spouting of bile.
I think a lot of people that go looking for a review of Foffa's products and end up here will see that too.
What I think has utterly proven itself again and again in this thread with irrefutable proof though is Danni's inability to deal with people. The irrefutable proof has been of Danni's own providing.
This thread would be a fraction of the size it is were it not for Danni coming on here and stirring it up again. I'm sure if you look at the post dates there's been times this thread has lain dormant for weeks and months until he has come on to 'defend' himself.
I don't beleive for a second that any potential business partner would take this thread as proof of the quality (or lack thereof) of Danni's products. They'd look at the actual products and let them speak for themselves. What they may take from this thread and its ranking in Google though is evidence of Danni himself and in that instance, Danni is definitely his own worst enemy.
-
• #3697
Blaming this thread for @danifoffa having a poor reputation is a bit like Russell Brand blaming a microphone for making him seem unfunny.
-
• #3698
The usual people doing the usual moralising on behalf of someone who if they weren't a business, would have most likely been banned permanently for being a dick. So, wait...
Danni voluntarily comes on here repeatedly being incredibly disingenuous and making an arse of himself to respond to criticism or observations about his wonderful brand yet he's being 'hounded' and 'bullied' by people who have simply challenged the information he's put out on pricing or manufacture on a forum they actually contribute to or have a deeper involvement with, even if that's just their classified sales record?
Remember the famous 'just like H+Son' that became 'my mate's dog said they're made in the same factory...' or his delightful price breakdown on the 2grand Foofa deluxe? It comes down to piggybacking on young, genuinely innovative and well put together brands and trying to steal their thunder, which isn't really fine so there are quite strict legal rules on that that wouldn't let such claims pass in the conventional press. But then his comedy self-confessed pricing processes with his retailers reflects his attitude to general business practices too.
Or how about threatening to sue Wikipedia and going into an edit war with them because their own staff (nothing to do with lufguss) wouldn't let him treat their business like a free 'bespoke' PR page? But yes, we're the dicks because we're letting him hang himself with his own rope instead of just gobbling off the fetid pizzle of his incredible bike 'designing' skills. I mean the 'Hi Pro.' Ooft. Innovative. Beautiful. But that's all character assassination, right, and the man's business is so frail that this thread and whomever's voiced a negative opinion of his wares is putting it's very existence at stake.
@Wicksie YOU aren't that important either, and everything you are decrying sounds like fairtrade, hemp manufactured hand-wringing on behalf of someone who actively makes himself look and sound like a total cnut whenever he's on the internetz, so kindly do what you and he repeatedly say you'll do, which is to STFU and do your admirable part in letting this snore-fest thread die in peace some day instead of repeatedly stirring the pot with false moralising on behalf of someone who's bent on throwing petrol on the flames himself every time he chooses to come back to do some gorilla marketing.

Is it even possible to bully a business?
-
• #3700
Friday!
I like that he thinks it's a 1 man band type thing but then other staff wouldn't admit to working for foffa so meh.
