  • is indeed a newer version of Max with different metallurgy.

Digging this up as it interests me. I've got a new Rychtarski max frame and have been trying to understand what's new about the reintroduced max tubes? Hampsten or whatever they're called say it's niobium alloy which is apparently superior to whatever the old max was made of. The wall thicknesses are the same as old max tubes. Anyone know anything about this?

  • Sounds about right russ, but I only read that it's a stronger steel, which is probably a good thing if you look at the wall thicknesses in the middle of the tubes. I've not seen any charts or info stating directly what the chemical differences are mind...

  • OT but how did you find the whole 'Tarski experience? Curious how the process worked, communication and any guidance from the builder as I'm quite tempted myself. Cheers!

  • Thanks uber. I'm sure it doesn't make a noticable difference to someone like me anyway but I'm curious to know. @Bezzin I got the frame from @El_rey who ordered it, he'd only used it for a year or so I think. Better ask him. Or @psee who's ordered three frames from them I think.
