Any recommendations? I ran over something solid at speed!

  • Imo these frames look best with low profile box section rims in 32/32h with silver hubs and spokes.

I'd go with TB14 to on-one / novatec silver hubs....A23 might also be a good choice.

(I know they aren't box section rims, but they're relatively low and have silver spokes so you get the idea)

As for the broken carbon wheel if the other side looks OK I'd take out the axle and turn it into a clock. If both sides look cracked, repair it with filler, spray paint black and turn it into a clock.

  • The clock idea sounds great! 😫 I may as well burned £400...

I have a very similar set of mavic ellipse wheels already, I'll put these on for the time being.

  • Any body want to buy a broken carbon 4 spoke?

  • Just fitted the front Mavic wheel. I have to agree it looks better.

    What do you think?

  • Much better!

  • I'm going to buy a new wheelset now, 2 options:

    • campagnolo pista
    • Velocity rim, Phil hub

I'm really on the fence for both practicality and price. I'm going to sell the Carbon 4 spoke as its currently being repaired.

    I would welcome options.

  • Campagnolo pista for the streets and to run a brake? No pls.
Record hubs are good but the whole thing is really heavy, plus the problem of running tubulars all the time.
I'm actually considering re-lacing my Pista set to a pair of lighter (carbon) rims.
    Or just sell them.

  • So are there any other options I've missed beside Mavic?

  • You can always build something up, as suggested above ;)

Black low profile rims with silver hubs and spokes will do the job!

  • Let me know if you do decide to sell them on the basis they are the new Campagnolo Pista wheelset.

  • A bit safe and a popular build but H+Son Archetype of TB14 rims, silver spokes and whatever hub suits your riding and budget.

Really loving the build Hugo7 posted.

  • Jeez, I hope that didnt snap right through at a bad time mate

  • Not mine, but they're not exactly the best design to clamp your arse on.

  • Yeah always thought they looked flimsy

  • That new vigorelli paint job is by far the best one they have done for me. Never liked any of the previous ones.

Had a change of heart and gone TT themed...

Really enjoying it at the moment!

I'll take some better pictures soon.

  • That looks super rad, new seatpost is much better and I'm sure it must ride great.
    repaired front wheel ?

  • Yes had the front wheel repaired, which isn't pretty but structurally sound.

  • Haha that brakelever is amazing.

  • Haven’t been on here for such a long time! Much has changed 😊

Here’s my current duo…. Always open to suggestions comments.

The red turbo on the Eddy will be paired up with tape, tyres or something when I get a mo! The bike was just too bland and I’m experimenting with colour.

The Atom is done for the time being
