The price between an entry level pro and a decent specs air is marginal. I went for an air at the beginnung of this year and swiftly cancelled it and order and gone for a pro in the end. Going down from a 15inch screen to a 13 retina really didn't bother me when on the go. When I get hone, I plug in into a 24 inch screen. Happy days.

The screen goes all psychedelic (rainbow edges to everything) and starts flashing and although the pointer still moves you can't click on anything or force-quit etc.
So it sounds like a goosed graphics chip, so the logic board would need replacing. It's nearly 7 years old, so I think it's had a good run, time to sell it for parts perhaps...
Need to decide if I can live with a 13" screen and if an Air or Pro is best. I use PS and ID a lot, so I'm guessing I'd need the Pro?
