India tourist Visa advice needed

  • My girlfriend is going to India in miid January. Her passport does not have 180 days left on it for the visa so she is applying for a full new one. She can't get her Visa until she has this and it all seems a bit slow. You can't check for appointments on fast track services with either dept. without first canceling the appointment you have.

The question I have is, is it sketchy to use a 3rd party company that offers fast track 48hr tourist visa services?

Does anyone have any experience in this area as I haven't a clue.

    Cheers

  • I use a visa agency (http://www.djbvisas.com - no connection with them, just found them to be good) all the time for both tourist and business visas and they've never let me down. I tried this after having sat in various embassy waiting rooms for countless hours with my forms in hand only to see people from these agencies stroll in, go straight to the head of the queue, and talk to the embassy staff on first name terms.

  • The missus and I had to use a fast-track service for our first trip to India - a random company off the internet. It seemed really stressful at the time but it all went through okay.

  • I know the queues at the Indian visa centre on Goswell Road are beyond long.
