Digital photography

Thought it looked a bit too tidy...

would anyone entertain the idea of swapping a 5d mkii with lens(es) for my x-e1 with 23mm (35mm equivalent), 35mm (50mm equivalent) and 18mm (28mm equivalent) primes. Money in between if needed of course.

I just realised there's now even animated "sponsored" posts next to the already abounding "recommended" shit on tumblr that you can't turn off. Fuck this shit.
Flickr is even worse; I was just clicking through somebody's stream, and got displayed advertising (in place of a user's photo in the stream) every six pictures or so.
I realize it doesn't help to whine about how Yahoo managed to fuck up both of these once really cool photo communities, but that's how it is.

Where do you go from here?
It may take a good while (as they're still in beta), but ello seems promising..

Just turned on Flickr, no ads, realised I have this on.

Worth a try, I frequently use Tumblr and don't see any ads (or lack thereof).

Adblock should be used always, everywhere.

Regarding the photo hosting site, I'm kicking myself for not making one a couple of years ago. I'm just so crap at coding that it was just too much a ball-ache. If any photographers (or not) here know a bit of css, JavaScript and jquery and fancy an easy project payed in infinite home-brew beer, holler.

No, the design is not a theme or a template, it's their "default" (I heard there's a dark / black one as well).

Did look at 500px a year ago or so, neither like the design nor the "vibe" of the place. Might check out again..

Just had new browser installed, and no Adblock yet.
Did now, and looked at flickr sgsin, and the ads are gone (which surprised me, as they were, as mentioned, "ad-images" that appeared between the user's images while browsing their stream). Cool.
Also, for tumblr, I found the add-on tumblr saviour - which has mixed revues (and I see no settings or button that should be there in FF), but it seems to kill the "sponsored" posts in my tumblr dashboard..

@kboy you should check out the metabones speed booster for your XE1 - its basically a reverse teleconverter that gives full frame lenses their actual field of view on crop sensors, and they gain you an extra stop. Quite amazing things.

My dad borrowed a Hasselblad digital medium format from work, had a play with it today. Such camera.

Anyone on here use DxO OpticsPro? They have an offer on at the moment. I'm tempted, but don't know anyone that uses it. Worth it? I mainly use lightroom for my processing.

It's supposed to be pretty good but I've never used it either.
