HY/RD's are exceptional for what they are. Expensive, but exceptional. I wouldn't compare them (Or any road hydraulic for that matter) to the 1 finger power of Saint's or the Modulation offered by XT's, but they are really good for what they are. Even with standard cables, I could endo confidently on freshly installed ones.
HYRDs might seem cheap compared to upgrading the entire groupset to be compatible with Shimano/SRAM hydraulic systems which are all (I think) 11 speed.
