Glad your mate is OK.
TBH - I think that'll buff out.
-
• #4154
Oof, top marks for effort. Glad he isn't too hurt.
-
• #4155
Yes, glad to hear he walked away from that, looks bad.
This morning was my first bike commute for at least three weeks due to some sort of series of mutant colds. Hardly any other cyclists - couple of roadies and one persistent undertaker who I witnessed nearly mow down a lollipop lady on the way to Camberwell. Oh and one fixed gear bloke who I hope wasn't on here as he rode almost as badly plus (y u) no foot retention. Wearing mitts was a tactical error on my part but still, dryish roads, sunshine, and escaping the train at last makes it a full ten marks for this one.

So turns out one broken eye socket and middle finger. Concussion and quite a lot of bruising but all things considered he dodged a bullet. We'd just done a switcheroo so I feel a bit bad, 30 secs earlier and it would have been me on the front.
So we are on a one way road doing abt 35kph and this utter fuckwit pulls off a side road without a care in the world. Lucky we were on bikes - his excuse was that he looked the wrong way - replace Condor with 10ton truck and that driver would be brown bread. Forks, top tube, head set, bars and front wheel took the lions share of the hit. Seb hit bonnet with right shoulder and windscreen with face and chest after a semi role before bouncing off on to road.
Popo were great at taking a statement but admitted that nothing much else would happen... Fucking great. Now have to wait for insurance.
Anyway good news is minor injuries bad news is fuckwits in the road.
Had A couple of drinks. Apologies if no sense.

Lovely.

so the police exist merely as functionaries in the insurance claim process?
your tax dollars at work. as worthless as they are feckless .

Some brutal accidents on my way home tonight... I hope the motorcyclist is OK, he didn't look it.
(Ambulance in attendance- I would have been superfluous).@Gandalf- be prepared for the most annoying insurance claim proceedure ever.
I'd consider lawyering up as that was a Ritte (if I'm correct) so it will be and should be quite a large settlement. Plus the injuries. -
• #4161
Make sure he keeps a diary and get photos of his injuries as its very easy to to forget stuff . Wright your report now while its clear what happened including times etc. gloss over the speed element bit. As for the ritte it can be replaced but his eye cannt . Sue the fker for everything including loss of earnings.

and do the solicitor thing ASAP!

Pleasantly warm morning this morning! Getting sick of the road surfaces on my commute now though, thinking about throwing in a couple of climbs to get off the usual road

Shouting at motorcyclists in the bike box at a junction on red. Why would you do that? I did - what a twat I am. When it turned to green he rode into me and kicked out and I fell off and he drove off and I felt rather silly.

So damn tired! Also, it was so warm. Someone commuter raced me, which was entertaining, and then the slow recognition it was a club mate was even more amusing for us both... 7/10 because headwind.

Watched an evans hgv almost wipe out some guy by overtaking at a pinch point, looked for a reg but it was obscured by the tailgate which was half down(possibly covered the indicators too but I didn't have long to look. It was heading out of london norbury-thornton heath pond towards the purley way I assume towards gatwick hq.
Report to evans? roadsafe? don't bother?
Apart from that a good ride, damp roads but not enough to splatter me badly.

i don't have a chainwhip or lockring tool at home, so i went to my bike shop and took advantage of their repair room in the afternoon. good, hospitable, friendly bike shop. i probably rode for 6 hours around downtown stamford, ct (not in one sitting) today . lap after lap of virtual route. i fell on my left side making a left around 12/1 am, 40° f. rode home, screamed at myself in the process, drew a bunch of bikes, stretched, went back out, still raining. my meat got lumped. i got rocked by a drainage thing. i can't feel it right now.

Got in on the bike again and though the worst of the cold/s appears, over my mojo is well and truly lost. Do they still do those sort of private sanatorium places where you can get sat in a chair on a terrace with a blanket over your knees, avoiding 'nervous excitement' and being served some kind of nourishing broth? I could do with a week in one of those

• #4170
So you feel silly for being assaulted by a twat on a motorbike?
-
• #4171
I rode this home last night. It feels like a shopping bike.. so damn upright!
But actively seeking out potholes was fun. :) Bars feel stupid wide. I think I'll wait and see what the Inbred is like and then decide which is going to be slicked up and SS'd. I reckon I might tweak the position on this and keep it for MTB. -

Saw the lady in a wheelchair walking her dog again, see her most mornings.
"Warm in It?" I said.
"Nah, freezing" she said. "You're a hot-blooded male".
"Ha ha" I said"bye"
"I'll bring my mistletoe tomorrow" she said.
Forward.
