Velodrome Shop

  • I ordered something from Velodrome Shop, it has been a week since the item was dispatched and still nothing has arrived... 'Michelle' has replied to my email, but only to say that the item should arrive in the next few days. I would rather pay more for the delivery and have a proper tracking service.

  • Happy to report that I received my order, that being said it did take 10 days to arrive. So I say it is safe to order from Velodrome Shop, just do not expect to receive your item within the stated 2-4 days. I also found Michelle to be helpful and fast to respond.

  • It is not safe to order from Velodrome Shop if your order took 10 days instead of the stated 2-4 days. It's just a shit service.

  • True! But some items, you just can not find anywhere else...

I definitely agree, if you can order somewhere else.

What other shops do people use in the UK? I used to get stuff from Tokyo Fixed / Kinoko, but their stock is never consistent + they are now closing down. However as I understand, they are going into e-commerce.

  • Ok, after reading this I was a little skeptical. But as previously mentioned; they do stock items that others don't.

I went ahead and made a purchase anyway, completed my order yesterday evening and received an email early this morning, stating that it had been shipped.

Seems pretty good. However I will update you when I receive the items.

  • Items arrived yesterday in good time. However, packaging was a little lacklustre as the items were loose and simply wrapped in paper. All good though, so nothing to really grumble about.
    8/10 Would bang again.

  • Ordered a PW hub and lockring as their prices looked quite competitive. 16 days after the order I dropped them an email asking about the status of my order. They replied the next day saying the items were shipped the same day I made the order using Royal Mail 24h delivery. Then after two days my order was magically (?) delivered. Locking was missing though and they had to ship it separately. If it hadn't been for their good communication I wouldn't buy from them again.

  • Just ordered an EAI Gold cog off them. Let's hope they don't live up to their reputation.

  • Email saying it was dispatched received 6 days ago (a bit late but it was new year and xmas). Didn't receive it within the 2-4 working days they promised so emailed yesterday. Magically they delivered today (a weekend). Only other problem is a pair of wheel nuts is missing.

  • I'm waiting for my order, which apparently went out with 'Royal Mail 24'. I rang Royal Mail only to be told this the tracking number the VD Shop sent me isn't valid for that service. Wish I'd seen this thread before buying from there! :(

  • email them! it'll magically appear into your post box!

  • I'm getting to know Michelle quite well, having placed an order on 27th December and still waiting.

  • Arrived!

  • Only a month. #baller

  • Has anyone tried placing an order and emailing them immediately?

  • Try emailing them immediately and then placing an order.

  • Made a post elsewhere four months ago, but figured I'd update in here as I could never see myself using them again.

Ordered a whole bike, there were drop down menus to select parts in sizes that you wanted i.e. stem length, bar width, type of bars, carbon etc, chainring size etc etc etc

Waited a bit didnt get shipping or tracking. Emailed asked on status and they said it would be delivered on a monday. I emailed back and said tracking please. They replied with they didnt have any.......but you know it'll be there on monday

    Bike arrived missing chain.
Chain set bolts are too long and the chainring floats.

Emailed them back, she tells me they are the correct bolts as they came in the set.

Well no, as the chainring isnt the same make as crank set as it was ordered in your drop down. Bottom line is the bolts are too long, which you should have realized when you put the two together.

The biggest kicker to how stupid they are comes next. Stem is a 26.0 clamp bars are a 31.8. Why.

Emailed. Replied with, there is an ''adapter'' in the box taped to bar wrap, unless I threw it out. There wasnt, I hadnt thrown anything out, and how would that make something big fit in something small?

They send out correct length chainset bolts and ''the solution to fitting big bars in little stems''

I would never entertain the idea of riding like this. But yeah, their solution were shims, which A. do not fit around a 31.8 bar. B. do not fit inside a 26.0 stem. C. make the bolts and inch or more too short.
Like, how thick do you have to be. This might work if they sent 26.0 bars and a 31.8 stem. But they didnt.

Zero out of Five stars. Would not buy from again.

  • they clearly meant to send you an inverse shim instead of that one

  • insanity! same problems listed above plus a wheel damaged (they sent me a set of calipers and levers after a discussion via email). They have no clue.. Also on the box I received there was a number of a guy crossed out that i've tried to call but he insisted had anything to do with the shop, weird. I guess the "Michelle" doesn't even exist.

  • I got my order after 2 1/2 weeks not great...

  • Ah forgot to mention that the levers were for 23.4 cm clamps and they sent a 26.4 cm bars.

  • A) Don't buy from Velodrome Shop.
    B) If you must, limit it to the exact small singular item that you simply can't find anywhere else.
    C) Keep emailing them until it's delivered.

  • That's shocking, even Halfords aren't that bad.
I've only ever bought small items from them (bbs, track nuts, tools...) and have had no issues apart from poor packaging, delivery has always been fast or reasonable too.
I guess keep it small and cheap like Husy pointed out

  • Boy am I sorry I didn't read this thread earlier. Two weeks since I ordered a bunch of "IN STOCK" stuff that supposedly takes 2-4 days to deliver and still waiting. Email correspondence consists of lies and fake tracking codes, same old story it seems. Last time I order from anyone without doing research into their reputation. The icing on the cake after having my wheels and bars fleeced in the first place. Sigh. Let's see how long it takes to get my hard-earned money back...
