I'm no saying 105 is bad. I'm saying it doesn't fit the $$$ spend on the rest of the build. Why not buy ultegra?/ Why no buy a better looking groupset?

^^ I put an old worn out 105 group on my first 3 roadbike builds because
- It was what I had lying around
- After spending £££ on the frame I had no money left
- It worked fine
- I find it satisfying to reuse things rather than waste them
- weight and performance difference between 105 / ultegra is negligible compared to the difference made by a frame upgrade
- I wanted to annoy you.

Why not? the old 105 is hardly inferior, those shifter design are quite comfortable for those with smaller hand.
I spend a lots of money on my bicycle yet put 7 speed friction shift on them.
