Wanted: Bottom bracket fixed cup (BSA)

Posted on
  • Now sourced, thanks

Tried to scavenge a cottered bottom bracket from an old frame, but the fixed cup won't give... So, does anyone have a BSA threaded cup or, if not, a whole cottered bottom bracket?

It's for a beater, so looking for bargain basement...! Cheers.

  • Have you checked the hole size on a cotterless cup, I couldn't remember off the top of my head but now I've checked
A BSA axle is 15.8mm, the diameter of the opening on a std Shimano fixed cup is nominally 17mm (I just measured one) So it should fit/work.
Failing sorting a cup you could possibly invest in a sealed unit from SJS?

  • The diameter of the hole is 18mm, so should fit either... Thanks!
