What do you need it for? A second hand 13inch Pro is a bit of a dinosaur IMO... you'd do better off with an Air (with it's SSD) in most cases.
For £500 you should be able to get an i5 and an SSD, which will be a lot faster day to day than a C2D MBP.You can prob do better, but quick search... http://www.gumtree.com/p/macs/macbook-air-13-i5-mid-2013-251ssd-hard-drive-4gb-ram-1.4-hz-very-good-conditions-microsoft-office/1092793484

My priorities are:
- spending as little time as possible looking for the new computer and setting it up, hence getting something that is easily available and similar to my current machine.
- Value for money / reliability
- I make and store alot of film / audio using the inbuilt camera, and imovie, which may be quite basic but I'm used to it and it suits my needs.
- streaming video off iplayer etc, browsing.
I dont want an air because I like having the dvd drive.
Thanks Marcom I'll try CEX. - spending as little time as possible looking for the new computer and setting it up, hence getting something that is easily available and similar to my current machine.
I'm looking to buy a second hand 13" Macbook pro. There are alot on Gumtree. It seems to be about £500 for a 2011 /2012 model with 4gb ram. Any opinions on whether this is worth the money? For a 2013 / 2014 they go up to around £650 but I'm hoping not to spend that much. Any advice appreciated. Thanks
