IMO, not in the least. Still doesn't stop me buying them every now and again though :(

Not enough to warrant the price.
If you really want one, go for it but a Sram or Wipperman for less than £10 will do the job nicely.

Get one from NJS Export, they're virtually new..
But in the past ive used a Wippermann 1G8 nice chain but will double the weight of your bike and the normal 1/8" chain tool are not quite man enough to change the length. -

Cleaned and greased regularly and a Supertough will last fucking ages, even with daily use. I managed to put ~20 miles a day for a year on one, and it was absolutely fine when I came to replace it.

In Finland we have this thing called skeneketju, referring to the KMC z510 HX. Tried and tested. Price is around £15. Only downside is that its so extra wide that it wont fit a mini park tool chain brute tool...
Also used NJS track chains are mostly good deals, they are mostly in like new condition. I wonnder why the Izumi is twice the price to Daido and HKK at NJS-export?
For riding purposes i cannot understand getting a £70 chain

skeneketju is very much approved
my favorite is the HKK vertex though..
also the superuglyness of the supertoughness is superoffputting

Not worth it unless you are track cycling.

Thank you guys for your comments - might go for a KMC again which i was running before. Have a nice Weekend - ride !

It's the only legimate 1/8th chain I've owned so i cannot compare. That said, it's lasted me 6000+ miles with absolutely no signs of wear on the chainring.
As the years tick by, the parts on that bike amaze me more and more with their durability. My other bikes continue to need a part here and there, or a tune up. The Sugino, Mavic,Nitto, Izumi set up on my fixed has been completely rock solid and literally required work only when i'm bored.

I Don't think its worth it. I ride a $10,- 1/8 KMC all day err day and it holds up to a year. Much better than what i'm used to with the fashionable Izumi's

It makes a hell of a noise

Noisy , blingy nut and bolt fixing
What more could you want -
• #15
Nut and bolt fixing. How tight should it be? I've fitted my first one today and went pretty tight with the screw as I certainly don't want it coming undone whilst in use, but the link is now noticeably stiffer than the others. I guess it will loosen up with time, but what are other people's experiences here? Thanks.

That can't be right, there is only a small amount of thread on the bolt.
Back it off and use some Loctite to stop the flat nut vibrating away down the first large hill.
I have two of these currently running with no problems.

I had the Izumi standard for a while and it was noisy a f compared to other track chains.

Thanks for that I'm sure I'll get used to it

KMC Z1X INOX was the quietest track chain I found. Ran almost silent.

Changed to sram... much better in.my opinion and much cheaper.
Will have to see about longevity.
Hi,
i am getting my transmission updated with some Rotors. Besides that i am running Dura Ace cogs. But i will need a new chain - thinking of the Izumi Super Toughness. But is there really a big difference ?
Anyone experiences or other recommendations ?
