  • Really important to be able to tighten the shoes for those intermediate commute sprint points. Think of the 0.2 seconds you lost- Sir Dave of Brailsford would not be impressed.

  • My feet change volume a surprising amount during a ride, even a short one. It's a good idea to start your ride with your shoes slightly loose and tighten them when you warm up/settle in. It's not a performance thing, just a comfort one.

    @Hovis Oversocks keep a decent amount of wind out, keep road spray off your feet and give you an extra layer of warmth for spring and autumn riding. They're really useful!
