I have turned a broken pair of Rival shifters (courtesy of @Scilly.Suffolk) into a pair of S900 carbon levers. I started with this guide, then found this cheat (bottom of the page) and then, because I didn't have a screwdriver small enough to get the plate off, managed to take the DoubleTap lever out without actually undoing anything other than the grub screw for the shifter axle. It involved a lot of frustration and pushing a 1.5mm allen key through the brake cable holster down into where it meets the axle, but it's out!
