From the drive to work day link:
Dear Sir/Madam
I’m working on a Channel 5 documentary about commuting and looking for someone who drives to work in London and sits in gridlock traffic for 45 minutes or so.
Do you know anyone who might be interested in taking part?
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
Will SteelI don't think that is the website you're looking for...

You'd think so hairnetnic though many drivers do follow @drivetoworkday some driving orgs joined in on the day,
[](http://www.youdrive.org.uk/)[The Driver’s Union ](http://www.youdrive.org.uk/) (@DriverUnion) and Drive East Midlands (@EastMidsDrivers) will be joining us (as will Kieth Peat if his dog @KeithPeatsDog lets him)

Joining in shortly but was out earlier cheering on participants as they reached their first congestion point.
Not a cyclist or pedestrian to be seen, seems everyone has made the extra effort to #drivetowork today.
Well done.

I didn't realise this was actually a thing.
Didn't participate, but today was the first commute for as long as I can remember where I don't recall seeing another cyclist, even on the cycleway. -

Some cyclists must definitely have driven in today, as when I stopped at the red light at the junction of Capworth Street and Leyton High Road this morning, the two cars behind me went through.

My partner didn't participate as a driver, but did as a cyclist when she was nearly taken off her bike by someone who she described as "taking drive to work day very seriously".

thanks, she's fine about it, we discussed a nicer route into town that avoids that particular junction for future d2wd's.

p.s. hope yesterday was a success and 2015 can be even bigger

Flagged by greenhell in the news thread but shows how much of a terror threat these bully boy cyclists are and how much safer we would all be if we all drove to work.

refuse to wear helmets expecting the drivers to take care not to hit them,
Are these folks for real?
-
• #25
They are real, there's a helmet thread on this very forum full of people who refuse to wear helmets and expect cars* to drive with a degree of competence that would avoid a crash.
(* reference to cars is deliberate as a quick scan of the press shows its cars which cause accidents* not drivers)
(* reference to accidents deliberate as a quick scan of the press shows that collisions caused by careless or inattentive cars and lorries are indeed accidents)
