  • Ok... Seller is being very helpful but just wanted to ask any Raleigh experts what they make of the frame number...

  • Not a Raleigh serial number from the Castorama period, be good to see close ups of the features such as seat cluster, drop outs, lugs and fork crown to see if they are typical Raleigh.

  • Here are some more from the seller...

  • dent in the TT looks a bit nasty

  • It doesn't look like an 80's or 90's Raleigh, that's not to say it isn't a Raleigh from an earlier period or a 'Raleigh' frameset produced by someone else, pro riders quite often had their own bikes painted up in their sponsors colours. There isn't a head badge, can't see any holes where the head badge would have been, the glued on versions were later.

  • @salmonchild ... yeah it does... hmm...

@colin2011 - yeah, cheers, re:headbadge -these were my thoughts as well...

I've been trying to find out who V S L might be - assuming it may be a team riders initials? also been trying to find examples of Cyfac built 'Raleigh' frames to see if they are similar...

Still holding on to first dibs!

    Cheers,
    Matt

  • also - it takes a 25.4mm seatpost - any ideas on tubing?

  • That "Raleigh" looks very French to me... the drop outs, the fork crown, the seatpost size...

  • 100% french rebranded frame..
