  • Hey, first CP thread here; let me know if I'm doing it wrong. I've procured a new Pre-Cursa frameset 58cm because, well, to be honest, they're fucking cheap. Consummately crap photo for courtesy's sake:

After crashing and totalling my Fort Track.Aero, I've been looking to replace it with something equally fun and cool, but I have got bored of searching to be fair.

I'm currently running an old Condor touring frame fixed (which I will be putting gears on and will start another thread for that) so have some parts that I will transpose (wheels mainly). **Not really in love with the Dolan decals so will be getting some customs done just for a bit of differentiation. Would like to have a crack at an entire DIY job on the paintwork but I haven't got the time or money, but that's a bit by-the-by.

    So I have:

    • Frameset ((frame, forks, seatpost, seatclamp and headset) black)
    • Wheels ((front Halo Aerorage & rear HplusSon Eero laced to Halo hub) black)
    • 48t Silver Omniums and BB
    • Izumi chain
    • 15T / 17t sprockets (will be 48 x 17 for daily biz n shiz) and BLB lockring (black) "whatevs"
    • Nitto B125's (Black)

However, I'm still undecided on cockpit and saddle. Considering Thomson stem and seatpost, although I do have a suitable stem & seatpost already, in order to get it rolling.

Anyway, that's where I'm at with it so far. Suggestions welcome.

**Anyone have any recommendations for removing the original decals? Cheers.

  • Update:
Wheels added, Concor light, steerer cut, headset fitted, swapped silver Oms for black Oms, new (2nd hand) ATAC XC2s, Deda Stem, overly narrow Deda RMH01s and wanky slogan on deep v.

    Not finished quite yet.
Got some wider Deda RMH01's on the way
and need to replace the saddle as it's failing.
Future plans are steeper / shorter stem and might try some risers.

    Otherwise pretty chuffed with #ALLBLACKERRYTHANG

  • Ironic rim quote is ironic.
Cockpit looks fine, I'm sure a steep and short stem will look odd, and it doesn't seem you need one as the saddle-bar drop looks alright.
Unless you have any particular reasons to do so.

  • I'm just used to a slightly steeper drop I guess; I will admit that it is a comfortable riding position but it seems like a smidgen shorter and steeper will be a bit more fun.

  • Silly drops are fine as long as you can ride them. Much aeros
