Hmmm, expensive, but interesting, ticks alot of the boxes..

No problem. Let me know.
It had a service down at mojo a couple of years ago, so it should be good for another 20 years.

I’ve been having a look at the FiiO X1 as it’s the kind of thing I’d be interested in if/when my old Sansa Fuze gives up the ghost. Audiophile reviews can be so funny – such linear, many separations, so detail. Luckily a lot of the music I listen to was recorded like shit in the first place so I don’t have to worry about that stuff so much.

anyone know a good cheap bluetooth dongle yoke that I can run a set of powered speakers? 3.5mm jack type.
so, I can send from my laptop.

I use a BlackBerry branded one. They may well be cheap on eBay these days.

At what point is having big speakers just trying to get one over? Friend has a set of JBL separate bass, mid and tweater that require 3 amps and a mixing desk in his bedroom. They are the same speaker set up as used at the Imax, just more of them.

I read up about it a while ago and settled on this one
But I never bought one, picked up a first gen apple airport instead for cheaps on the bay

Does anyone need some new headphones?
These look like a bargain:

Bear in mind that Apt-X requires a license so a whole variety of phones, laptops, etc don't actually use it even though it's better quality. You may need a separate dongle for it.

Just been given one of these. B&O Beogram 3000. I have reattached the belt and everything seems to be working but as it has a proprietary connection I'll need an adaptor to get it connected to my system.
Is it worth bothering? Does anyone have any experience of this turntable or other B&O ones from this era?
-
• #1588
Is is a DIN connector?
-
• #1590
I have. Beogram 1700 from the same era. It's got a really nice sound, and very low noise.
The connection is A Din 5 pin, and you can pick one up cheap at any hifi shop. That will take care of left and right audio. You need to also run a ground cable from the Amp's ground terminal to the ring of the Din connection. Just jam the bare wires in between the plug and adapter.

seems to be standard price - that RRP Amazon are listing seems very high - Richer Sounds have RRP as £149
-
• #1592
The full RRP is £249. It's what they were tested at in What Hi-Fi and plenty of places have them at that still.
Even so, I can't find them for cheaper anywhere else and they did win the best in category in 2012 and 2014 in the What Hi-Fi awards.

I have a pair of the AKG550 and paid £95 in Richer Sounds six months ago - they were the same price on Amazon then (and the AKG website currently has them at around £130 reduced from £199"RRP").
Odd pricing differences aside, they sound bloody amazing (I got them to replace some grado SR80s and would compare them favourably). One thing to bear in mind is the fit. You really need to ensure the cushions form a reasonable seal or else the bass will just disappear. When I first tried them on in Richer Sounds I thought they were broken, they sounded so tinny! Someone had bent the demonstration model's headband slightly so I couldn't get a tight fit.

Yes, I need a female 5 pin DIN to RCA. I will go to Richer Sounds or my local independent guy and see what he has. I have an earth coming out of the back of the turntable. Can I run that to the amp instead? Excuse the ignorance.
Thanks @Mr_Sworld @timmah! ! I will use the SH link if I can't get one from the shop.

^ they are very highly thought of
I've been looking at the ATH M50 X and the KRK KNS 8400 for monitoring duties, plenty of people on Underground Music Production Facebook group using both, as well as the DT880's
I really do like the Sennheiser HD25 II but they do have a bit of an enhanced curve

for monitoring / mixing i use dt 880s + hd25 both have merits but am considering something that doesnt bleed or bleed my ears . sony mdr 7506 any good ?

Anyone got a turntable for me for christmas? Mrs Dooks, sorry, Apone is buying.
Failing that recommendations for new/used things to look for?

I'm trying to work out how to get a some kind of wireless speaker feed from my amp to speakers, to save me taking up the floorboards / flexibility to change room around ... does anyone know anything about this sort of set up? I don't really know if they exist, I'm just sort of hoping ...
I'm imagining a dinky transmitter and even dinkier little receivers at each speaker (bluetooth?).

Rega Planar 2 (with RB250 arm) is a good starter - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/REGA-PLANAR-2-turntable-/261532716510?pt=UK_AudioTVElectronics_HomeAudioHiFi_Amplifiers&hash=item3ce4908dde
thanks will pass on the info, looks interesting, only sticking point could be the price. Bit worried that you may have to do a bit of internet workarounds to get it to work with itunes, since it doesn't support airplay..
