  • No, name names. Sounds like a scam and people should be warned.

  • Looked at your posts and can't see any replies, I always see it as dodgy when people pm and don't reply so others can see the item is gone/going. Name names tho if others got similar offers/messages it could be early warning and prevent something bad.

  • At first reading, it does smack of something along the lines of an advanced fee fraud.

    But thinking it through, I'm not so sure.

    If you're doing a straight swap by post, what do you do if the item you're expecting doesn't turn up? You're totally reliant on the other party to reimburse you, as you have no easy way of making a recovery.

    Even assuming you obtain a County Court judgement, you still have to enforce it.

    The Paypal payments act as bonds that each party will fulfil their end of the bargain: post it Signed For and remember to log the tracking reference on PP.

    Treat it as one sale and one purchase and it doesn't look so complicated: just exercise the same caution you would in either of those situations individually.
