I didn't measure so yeah, just trusted. Perhaps that is where it has gone wrong.
I got BHS rims because I was already getting the hubs and it was cheap even with the delivery and duty. Having said all that, now that I have seen the rims, wish I had gone for archetypes. The join is not as seamless as I am used to seeing. Oh well, its done now.

Did you measure the rim yourself or just trusted the numbers?
597 sounds reasonable for a 22 mm deep rim, but it also depends how thick the rim wall is... some measure ERD differently than others.
I really struggle with this obsession for BHS when there is a huge supply of rims round here (if you are in London you can even pick up an Archetype yourself without having to wait for the man on the van
