@Chalfie, I did think some of the targets a bit odd, just in terms of their age, plus transfer costs and wages over the length of the contract, you'd think Utd would wonder about the benefits of buying players who would be moving towards the tail end of their careers, Alves is 31 and Robben 30.
Also the Galatico model doesn't provide much space for bringing through younger home grown players something that Van Gaal has done pretty much consistently throughout his managerial career.
