  • Oh my God, Sunshine. Empty roads. Bliss.
    Legs hurt.
10/10 would ride for the rest of my life.
Also they just installed a drying cupboard in the changing rooms. It is fucking magic.

  • This morning.
    It was cold.
I wore a belgian cap from Rapha.
I've not done that for years. I'm getting older.
    Or.
    It's getting colder.

  • Realised my rear tyre was a little soft(70psi) a few days ago put more air in it(100psi) before I left today as last night felt sluggish made a huge difference felt more nippy. Wearing a new red fleece I got felt good.

  • Good scoble bait ..

  • @amey I'm trying to get my head around if a blue one will feel as warm or if the red is what makes it warm.

  • Red is definitely faster.

  • @c00ps they had black ones too but I don't want to go that fast in the wet and it's sort of pointless having a fast jet black fleece when the dry sunny weather returns.

Physics actually but don't let me stop you, heathen...

  • Back on the fixed this morning after a spell of riding freewheel. Combined with it being a fair whack milder than I'd predicted meant it was a slightly sweaty arrival at work. Needed full lights this morning for first time this year. 7/10 Would drip again.

  • Was pretty much 'attacked' today:

Was waiting in primary position at a junction (just a backstreet, not a big fast road). Pulled off on green, holding centre of lane as there’s a parked car about 10 metres up the road so wanted to hold position, pass it, then pull left.

Bloke behind gets on the horn, I continue as is signalling for them to stay behind, pass the car and carry on, slowing and pulling left. He pulls alongside-ish, window open screaming at me to get out of the road and then swerves into me. Was so deliberate – was only going about 10mph by this time and he covered about 1.5 metres sideways to get to me!

Managed to swerve hard left as well and bail on to the pavement. He then stopped and his wife in the passenger seat was in turn shouting at him and saying “oh my god I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry” at me. She restrained him whilst he was fiddling with his belt trying to get out for a scrap! Got half a reg. Then followed at a distance round the corner where they dropped their daughter off at school about 100 metres away! Took the full reg then.

How does one report these things? Roadsafe?

  • Given recent conversations with the police it is a 999 job but needs to be reported promptly.

  • dad of the fucking year. bet he beats his wife and kids.

  • Hah, as he pulled up to the infant school I assumed he'd noticed I was following and was getting out for a fight!

  • Grass that twat up to the filth ASAP.

  • You could also go to the school and suggest this parent be strongly discouraged from driving to school as he presents a potential danger to kids who are riding there.

  • That reminds me; I saw a kid about 12/13 yrs old (not youf) last night on Fulham Road riding bike with a backpack and a helmet (>>>>) and extremely good sense of safety and road sense .. the traffic was hectic due to Chelsea game too .. made me happy on otherwise a mundane route home.

  • Paedo.

  • deffo getting colder this year - last year's mildness was a let-off, :-)

    {leg-warmers on stand-by!!!}

  • Nice to talk to @Dakin this morn going down liverpool street, made my wet cold hungover commute much more enjoyable.

9/10 would have frozen hands again

  • Nice dry ride, so can't complain.

Saw a person riding a MTB on the pavement with a motocross helmet on.

    9/10

  • Haha yes yes brah.
Buying gloves was a wise move.

Getting hit by a Boris twat 10 mins after leaving you was shit though.

  • Sounds like a horrible experience. Do whatever you think is the best course of action. Seems to me that contacting the school probably won't do much for you, but it may inform them that one of their pupils' dad is evidently suffering from some kind of anger management problem, is prone to violent behaviour or similar. I think these sorts of details are of interest to schools and how they help the kids in their charge long-term.

  • There is a school near me and parents who have been reported for bad driving or parking across peoples driveways or on the zig zag lines are requested to not drive to the school.
