  • I've seen/heard rumours about it.

    Someone deciding to pack and so they get the train. 2 or 3 stops later they think "actually, I want to finish it" and get off the train and (rather than go back to where they got the train) wibble on to the next control/finish.

    DIY by GPS opens up all sorts of possibilities of armchair Audaxing.

    It's sad that people would cheat, but it's worse when you have a sledgehammer of a rule to crack a very small nut.

  • That rule is most sensible: to get some beers after 500km in a group where one man then will be strong enough to remember the route to the last control.
