@Dammit I'll rent the ovlov for a year for £500....
But seriously, I have finally swapped my Australian licence for a UK one. Got me thinking about maybe getting a car. I'm always renting or using zip car but it limits last minute weekend trips. Since this could be my last year in the UK figure get a car and see lots.
So, is it possible to buy a decent enough car for £1000 including mot and insurance products for a year?
Would like it to fit 2 people and 2 bikes.>
My insurance is ~£400/year, MOT obviously depends, but if you buy a car that has just passed it's test you probably don't have to worry about that.
My car drinks ~£80 of petrol every 400 miles or so, if it's mainly motorway, that can drop to 200 miles if it's stop-start city/back roads.
VED for a year is going to be £220 ish, so that with insurance and you've only got ~£300 or so for the car out of your £1,000.
You might be better off sticking to renting them, although how much do you think you've spent doing that over the past 12 months?
