  • Also, where are all the Spurs fans?

Radio 5 Live made it sound like quite a performance today.

They were very good indeed. But you don't want to listen to someone who was at the ground, here's the Guardian report:
    http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/nov/30/tottenham-hotspur-everton-premier-league-match-report

    That's how it works, right?

  • good performance, pity it took us going a goal down to kick start it.
Soldado with a goal from open play and though I held my breath after the earlier opportunity that he fluffed, he never looked like missing. Composed and a joyous reaction to getting THAT goal in the league.

Bentaleb and Mason looked really good for us, despite my disparaging of Bentaleb last season under Tantrum Tim, he's looked a better player this term, and he, Mason and Kane have provided some much needed youthful impetus.

Chiriches whatever position he plays still fills me with fear, but Verts showed why he should be one of our first choice centre half's. And really hoping that Walker when he returns can give us a big boost, by providing an injection of pace and attacking intent from right back, and maybe Davies is the answer to our left back conundrum, with Rose flattering to deceive, and having one too many brain fades...
Also good to see Paulinho make a bit of an impact off the bench, love his energy and forward thinking and feel like his price tag makes him an easy target for the grumblers...

Would love for us to get a result at Chelsea, but think matic and fabregas will be a bit too much for mason and bentaleb, if they start that is, the Poch isn't averse to a bit of team tinkering. Really hope he keeps Kane and Soldado up front though..
Still with the crush of clubs from 4th down to 10th a loss at chelsea isn't a complete disaster, as we'll still be in amongst it, whereas a win pushes us into contention for the CL place race...

  • clive .... shit got real in day z thread .. some badies force fed one of our guys dodgy raw meat and intentionally poisoned him, callous

i feel like getting and x box and seeking some revenge care to join me .... you'll want something to take your mind off " the meltdown "

It would be amusing to stalk their discussions and then ambush them and nick all their loot every now and then. Dodgy meat is a good one. Wish I'd thought of it.

  • @>>>>>>

you'll be in Oz soon, plasticing it up with John H and declaring your love for the local football team
    http://www.brisbaneroar.com.au/

I look forward to this time, when you'll be the only Chelsea supporter in the village, or better yet, spending your time teaching the other ex pats, who've never been to a game some Chelsea chants, and becoming disgusted with yourself, but unable to leave it alone...

    #smileyface

If any of the broadcasters was actually showing the match on wednesday I'd suffer the "banter" and attempt to watch it with you..

Apparently, Benitez has just bought a new house on the Wirral. He kept his old one from his Liverpool days and his family have lived there ever since. He has, apparently, upgraded. Wonder if this pressages a return. Could he be the one to drop Stevie G? I suspect not. He wasn't able to drop Torres.>

Depends on whether you're owned by a murderous megalomanic that insists on interfering with football matters....

  • Good game yesterday - two pretty evenly matched teams.

Despite what the MOTD pundits say about Kane's "direct running" (such insight) - I still think he slows play up too much and makes poor choices on the ball. There were 3-4 good opportunities for him to play a simple ball and Soldado would have had a hat trick instead of just one goal to end his drought. It's easy to see why Pochettino has resisted giving him first team football until he repeatedly kicked down the door on Thursday nights.
However, that said - he injected a bit of much needed oomph into the middle of the field (typified by winning the ball back from Barry for the Soldado goal) and his work rate was really something. I guess he's a less-technical, but harder working alternative to Adebayor.

Dead pleased to see Soldado score - felt awful for the guy.

Lamela was invisible again. What is he for?

I like the pairing of Mason and Eriksen in the middle - they work well, but I worry that both are quite lightweight and bigger opposition will just steamroller them...

... Speaking of which.... We are going to get merked on Wednesday.

  • I know quite a few Chelsea bods out there already, it's gonna be fun...

I'll send you a postcard from the beach bar I'll be watching the game in...

  • Local derby against the league leaders and still Tottenham are not worthy of the broadcasters attention?

As least when he get to OZ @>>>>>> will be able to catch every game live albeit over an early breakfast.

  • Will you be working in Oz or are you taking early retirement?

  • We'll have to wait and see, Clive... I've put some feelers out, should be OK...

  • it is, pity they lost in the end, but what's with both juventus defenders taking an angle and then bailing as they got close to him? was he running that fast or did they not want to take responsibility for a challenge. He ran pretty much unmolested from box to box. cracking strike though...

  • He ran pretty much unmolested from box to box

Nothing to add, just had to quote this.

  • I thought seriously about changing that, then thought fuck it, if the readers of the football thread want to snigger into their hands then go right ahead...

Adryan of Leeds United. Well done lad...

  • What the actual?

Anyway. I've been cleared for 16/12/14. Someone pick a pub.

  • How about the upstairs bar at Doggett's on the south side of Blackfriars Bridge? It's a total shit hole, so absolutely perfect...

  • Any prevision of the bedwetting?

  • mario ballotelli carrying on where suarez left off
hope he gets an 8 match ban, the racist jew hater

  • I can't see how it can get much worse for Liverpool at the moment. I have a feeling it will and will be interesting to see how.

  • He hasn't bitten anyone yet.

Just a matter of time, I suppose.

Mind you to be a real Kop hero, he will have to get involved in a few nasty altercations in and immediately outside nightclubs.
