  • What channel is this on?

  • ICS?

  • It will be on Channel 4, directly following a documentary about Morbidly Obese People Fraudulently Claiming Job Seekers Allowance, and just before the all-new comedy drama Immigrant Street which is a bit like Coronation Street only with travellers instead of Shane Ritchie and Anna Friel, and designed to make middle-class white people angry about all the things the government doesn't give them.

  • Ooh, sounds like a good night in.

I thought TV shows like that were primarily designed to reinforce the stereotypes and prejudices which Middle England cherishes and holds so close to its collective heart?

  • Dunno. The only things I watch on TV are repeats of murder mystery programmes so I rely on third-hand did-you-see-that-thing-on-TV-last-night outrage in the Graun to tell me what's hot right now.

IMO this makes me eminently qualified to work in a TV scheduling department, and I will be applying to each of the major channels forthwith.

  • All I hope is to have enough time for a quickie in between the before and the following, the time for the refreshing is due as well. Hygiene and cold water keep the instruments healthy and fully functional. It's still a form of embroidery.

  • hey, let's not get carried away here. of course he's not an aspiring terrorist. who hasn't made the odd nail bomb and dabbled in KKK and neo-nazi imagery?

  • When do you start? I'd be persuaded to start watching TV again...

Internet arguments, particularly in "bad traders" and "popcorn" threads

  • That's been on the cards for a looooong time. One of my assignments in my MA was to weigh up the different merits of the different types of tunnel they could create (cut and cover vs bore etc).

  • No surprise, Government genuinely think car ownership will go up in the future.

    Field of Dreams / Waynestock.

  • Of course, I know and have been following it for a long time. There still hasn't been that much movement on it until now.

    'Zactly.

I was always under the impression that increased road building led to increased vehicle use.

  • Always, we already seen it ourselves by the several poor road design in London.

Doesn't help that Boris want to increase it too.

Boris "Smoothing traffic flow" Johnson's finest.

  • The A303 is so bad to get to Cornwall we usually fly (Gatwick to Newquay). Who needs tunnels?

(We take the train when we can but even with advance tickets it's often cheaper to fly, which is mightily fucked up.)

  • Yeah... obviously it should be a bridge so you can see the 'henge.
