  • Right, here we go, I'm selling these as next year I'm making an honest women of Mrs Beard, er, if you know what I mean...so in the spirit of the institution we've come to a compromise on bike numbers.

We've agreed that we can have 3 each, I'm taking that to mean '3 in the house' and I never got my maths GCSE so I'm going for 3 and frame.

PM over dibs, inspections welcome, collection in SW4/SE1 (collection at Brixton Cycles or HHV can also be arranged easily)

Anyway here are the 3 frames

    Frame 1. SOLD

    **Frame 2. SOLD

    **Frame 3. SOLD

This is my first go at selling on here, I mainly just hide in the vintage sections, so be gentle.

A donation to the forum will be made if I sell anything.

Later on I'll also be selling this frame (but only the frame) & all the kit off this, (but not the frame) as the cull continues.

  • Sorry I'm having trouble with the photos...

  • Frame 1 SOLD

  • Frame 2 SOLD

  • Frame 3 SOLD

  • What size is the first frame? Looks lovely

  • Sorry that link is broken at the top.

From memory it's 61 x 59, but I'll measure up and fix the link tomorrow.

Sorry just me being lazy and relying on the original sales thread

  • Here you go - just dug this out

    Frame one details

    ST: 61cm (ctc)
    TT: 58cm (ctc)
    HT: 20cm (ctc)

    Campag Dropouts
    Takes 27.2 seatpost
    Comes with seatpost bolt
    English BB

  • Could you give more details of the problem with frame three's BB shell please and is UK shipping feasible?

  • Shipping is feasible...I'll sort some more details on the vikings BB issue tomorrow.

  • Morning.

The BB issue is as follows - when I was building it up I found that the threads (which look ok) accepted the BB cup on the drive side, but at some points when it was being screwed in it would just pull out, other times it would hold. After some more investigation I found that when the drive side BB was screwed all the way in and tensioned up it would hold, with some movement and when the rest of the BB was installed it would hold but again with some small movement.

I'm sure one of these would sort it, but I don't think I'd get away with it due to me weight (and awesome power, clearly).

The other thing could be that the BB shell has become slightly oval on the drive side, this would account for the BB cup gripping in some places and then not in others.

    I hope thats helpful?

  • Thanks for that.

Sounds like having the threads filled and re-tapped could fix it, assuming the shell is still round. Unfortunately I don't know of any one local (off hand) who could do that and I'm not keen on threadless BB.

I'll make some enquiries, but don't hold it on my account.

  • I forgot to ask: what size seat post does it take and I assume it's for 27" wheels?

  • Dibs on frame 2! What size is it?

  • Yep 27's or Sprints.

I agree on your sentiments about the BB shell. I doubt it'll move quickly so just let me know.

    Cheers

  • Centenary 531, 59cm square, 120mm rear spacing

I prefer PM to dibs to fella.

  • Hmmm... I have a pair of BHC Racelites that would look the part...

Double butted 531 will take a 26.4mm post?

  • They would indeed!

Let me measure the pin width as I just tried a pin from my parts in that fitted.

    I'm assuming DB 531 on feel but I would have thought it's 26.4 as 27 & 27.2 don't fit from memory.

I'm happy to include the seat pin with the sale and a seat bracket gratis.

  • It's 26.4, just measured it.

Happy to include pin and saddle clamp in sale.

  • Right-ho: let me look into getting the shell sorted.

  • Light blue frame (frame 2) now sold

    Thread and title adjusted accordingly.

  • Price drops

    Frame 1 £190

    Frame 3 £90

  • Anyone got a drilled fork that would suit frame 1?

  • I have a green beater fork, 1" threaded 230mm steerer & the original alloy forks off my GT Edge that are 1" threadless 270mm steerer. I've got a black CK 1" No Threadset that would go with it too.

That said, I think it would be a shame to separate the frame and forks, if you now what I mean.... :)
